Applications from New Zealand
The South African High Commission in Wellington, New Zealand, started operating on 1 April 2009.
The requirements for the various services are basically the same as on the www.sahc.org.au web page BUT must be forwarded to the South African High Commission in Wellington together with the correct NEW ZEALAND currency.
The SAHC in Wellington is able to assist with the following Consular Services:
- Applications for Birth, Marriage and Death Certificates
- Birth Registration: New Born
- Passport and Temporary Passport Applications
- Emergency Travel Certificates (one-way travel to RSA)
- Identity Document Applications
- Dual Citizenship Applications
- Resumption of South African Citizenship
- Renunciation of South African Citizenship
- Visa Applications
The BI-9 Fingerprint form must be requested from consular@sahcwellington.co.nz or Wellington@foreign.gov.za

All applications must include a New Zealand prepaid self addressed track and trace courier bag (not envelopes). The courier bag will be used as return postage.

Payment must be in the form of a Money / Postal Order or Bank Cheque in New Zealand currency, made payable to the South African High Commission.
- Personal Cheques and Credit Cards are not acceptable.
All applications for South African passports from New Zealand MUST be forwarded to the Mission in Wellington. However, please note that all South African passports applications are forwarded to Pretoria for issuing. These passport applications may take up to 6 months to be finalized.
